25-30 September 2025, Serbia: Twinning between the municipalities of Mionica and Ceraso; Kolubara Bio-District joining IN.N.E.R.

The Italian delegation composed of Salvatore Basile (IN.N.E.R.-Bio-Distretto Cilento) and Aniello Crocamo (Mayor of Ceraso) will be in Serbia to follow up on Resolution No. 28 of 24 July 2025 and initiate the twinning between the Municipality of Mionica and the Municipality of Ceraso.

Ceraso is the capital of the Cilento Bio-District, the first bio-district in Europe, and is also the headquarters of the INNER International Network of Bio-Districts.

Many European municipalities wishing to launch a bio-district visit the Cilento Bio-District, based in Ceraso, every year to meet the main players and learn about the operational and management methods of a bio-district. The Cilento Bio-District reciprocates these visits by travelling to areas that are focusing on organic farming for their development, in order to exchange best practices and initiate collaborations between European organic communities.

In this context, from 21 to 25 April 2025, the Cilento Bio-District hosted a Serbian delegation of 20 people in Ceraso, composed of representatives from the FAO, the United Nations, Serbia Organica, the University of Belgrade and the Kolubara Bio-District.

During the visit, which was also attended by representatives of the Municipality of Ceraso, a proposal was put forward for a twinning with the Municipality of Monica, where the first Serbian Bio-District is being established, named Kolubara, which identifies the district of the same name located in north-western central Serbia.

Numerous contacts followed in the months that followed, which led, among other things, to the organisation of a visit to Serbia from 25 to 30 September 2025 by a delegation composed of representatives of the Municipality of Ceraso and the Cilento Bio-District. The delegation will be welcomed on 26 September by the Italian ambassador in Belgrade and will then travel to Mionica for the twinning ceremony and the entry of the Kolubara Bio-District into the INNER Network of Bio-Districts in Ceraso.
